About

Certified in Business Japanese JLPT N2 and runs an online platform called Jafuneseland that teaches Japanese in a fun way

I’m a flautist with over 15 years of musical experience — a journey that has shaped me as a performer, teacher, and passionate creator. My time in Japan, where I lived for more than eight years, deeply influenced my artistic expression and broadened my understanding of cross-cultural performance. During those years, I had the opportunity to perform at several cultural events, collaborate with artists from diverse backgrounds, and conduct musical workshops that celebrated the beauty of fusion between Indian and Japanese art forms.

Beyond performing, I express my love for music through teaching and creating content that connects people to the soul of sound. My social media platforms have become a space where I share this passion — blending tradition, creativity, and personal expression.

My journey in Japan also inspired me to explore the language deeply. I’m certified in Business Japanese (JLPT N2) and run an online platform called Jafuneseland, where I teach Japanese in a fun, creative, and approachable way. Music and language, to me, are both forms of connection — and through them, I continue to explore, express, and inspire.

My Story

“I want to perform here someday” were the first words I uttered about becoming a musician in my earliest memory at the Petachi Auditorium, Chennai when I accompanied my uncle & flautist Sri.A.N.Srinivasan to one of his concerts several years ago. I don’t remember how did I start playing the flute. My aunt, guru & flautist, Kalaimamani Smt. A.N. Bhaghyalakshmi tells me I was naturally inclined towards flute and that`s how I started learning the instrument from her.

Testimonials

Priya introduced herself to me to be featured in QFR. As soon as I listened to her samples I saw so much promise. she was naturally talented and vibrant.

The special thing about her is how she quickly learns the given phrases and reproduces in the same accent. With film songs the accent of the original plays a major role, and she understood that.

with her natural instinct towards nuances and exposure to all forms of music,Priya promises to be one of the leading flautists in the years to come.
